What Makes a Meeting "Qualified"? A Framework
Pay-per-meeting only works when both sides agree on what a meeting is worth paying for. This framework prevents 95% of disputes.
Every performance-based sales arrangement lives or dies on one definition: what counts as a qualified meeting? Get it right and money moves without friction. Get it wrong and every payout becomes a negotiation. After watching where disputes actually come from, we've distilled qualification into four objective checks.
The four checks
One — right company: the prospect works at an account on the bounty's target list, at the time of the meeting. Two — right person: their title matches the bounty's stated criteria, with excluded titles listed explicitly at posting. Three — real meeting: it happened, ran at least the stated minimum (20 minutes is the sensible default), and the prospect knew what it was about — no bait-and-switch intros. Four — genuine context: the prospect took the meeting knowingly, not as a favor with zero relevance.
Notice what's not on the list: whether the prospect bought, whether they had budget this quarter, whether your AE ran a good call. Those are outcomes of the sales process, not the meeting. A hunter controls who shows up in the room; they don't control your win rate.
Lock it at posting, check it against evidence
The framework only works if the criteria are fixed before the first claim — qualification standards that shift after the meeting happened are how trust dies. The second half is evidence: when meetings happen on a platform-provided link, attendance, duration, and participants are facts, not recollections. Disputes become a ten-second check against the recording instead of a he-said-she-said.
The 48-hour rule
Companies review each meeting within 48 hours or it auto-approves. This isn't arbitrary: fast review keeps hunters paid while memory is fresh, and the auto-approval deadline forces the discipline that makes performance pricing feel safe for the supply side. Slow money is broken money on a marketplace.
