Warm Introduction Email Templates That Actually Get Replies
The exact messages top hunters use for double-opt-in intros — ask, forward, and connect templates you can copy today.
A warm introduction lives or dies on the first message — not the one to the company, the one to your contact. Here are the templates experienced hunters actually use, structured around the double-opt-in flow: ask first, connect second. Adapt the words; keep the structure.
Step 1 — the permission ask (to your contact)
"Hey [name] — quick one. I've been working with [company], they do [one plain sentence — no buzzwords]. Given what your team is building with [specific context], I genuinely think a 30-minute look is worth your time. Want me to connect you? Zero pressure — happy to drop it if it's not relevant right now."
Why it works: it's specific about why them, honest about the ask, and gives an easy out. The easy out is not politeness — it's what makes the yes real, and real yeses show up to meetings.
Step 2 — the connection (both parties, after the yes)
"[Contact], meet [AE name] from [company] — [one-line pitch]. [AE], [contact] leads [function] at [account]; the context I mentioned: [one sentence]. I'll let you two find a time — I'd suggest 30 minutes. [Contact's assistant/email] is best for scheduling."
Keep it under a hundred words. Your job is the handshake, not the sales call. Include exactly one piece of context that makes the first five minutes of their meeting better — that's what separates an introduction from a mere connection.
What to never do
Don't send the company's whole deck in the intro (that's for the meeting). Don't oversell ("this will change your life") — it spends your credibility on someone else's product. Don't skip the permission step to save a day; a surprised prospect is a no-show waiting to happen. And don't hide that it's a commercial arrangement — referral partnerships are normal; secrets are not.
One more habit worth stealing: after the meeting happens, message your contact once — "useful? want me to stay out of it now?" It closes the loop, and it's why the same people keep saying yes to good hunters year after year.
